Why every astrologer needs an astrologer. The community makes us stronger.
We are navigating from the age of information to the age of intelligence.
Artificial or not, it’s still intelligence. At the moment, many of us are going through a lot of transformation and phases of growth, which are placing us on different trajectories, both in our personal and professional lives. I see this daily. In my work, collabs, friendships, my intimate relationship, and family. More and more, we are starting to learn and experiment laterally while getting new ideas for skills, projects, possibilities, on our own.
The smart way is to also get support, mentorship, and allies that root for you, guide you, present you with new ways of approaching what you learn, who can help you integrate and embody the information. This way, intelligence is transmuted into not only knowledge, but also wisdom.
I began experimenting with astrology and numerology in my mentoring programs a couple of years ago, while going through a time of profound transformation. Actually, these are the best moments when astrology and related symbolic sciences make their way to our lives. I started studying with my Canadian teacher Nadiya Shah and her top teachers at Synchronicity University. And last year I started learning with Valeriu Panoiu on various topics, from astrology to numerology and beyond. After +280 hours of classes (but who’s counting), I never stopped getting counselling and mentoring from the wiser, more experienced astrologers in my life. Why? Because it’s smarter this way. As an astrologer you will always have blind spots in your charts or even corners where your own mental conditionings and patterns will project a false idea of what’s happening and how you should handle things. Why every astrologer needs a community of fellow astrologers to thrive and evolve in their practice? I tried to list my thoughts below.
1. Expanding astrological knowledge
Astrology is vast and no astrologer in my opinion can claim they know everything there is about it. By connecting with other astrologers, we gain access to diverse perspectives, techniques, and interpretations. Whether it’s vedic, western, chinese, or any other astrological tradition, a community of astrologers provides a platform for continuous learning and growth.
2. Astrology is collaborative and is transforming continuously
Having a network of fellow practitioners to consult with regarding tougher charts can be invaluable. Collective brainstorming, sharing insights, and seeking advice can lead to a better understanding and interpretation of charts, not to mention actualisation within the pratice.
3. Astrology requires strong ethics
Astrology is a potent tool that can deeply affect lives. Conversations about client confidentiality, the responsible use of predictive techniques, and maintaining professional boundaries are something we can learn together, not alone.
4. Getting the support we need and the sense of belonging to a community
Many times, being a counsellor and hearing about people’s hopes and fears can take up energy from the astrologer. Having a supportive community or mentor who understands the emotional challenges of the practice can feel like a safe space.
I call my mentors guardians of my soul’s path and I am very grateful I have them nearby. As I want to be surrounded by both a masculine and a feminine energy, my mentors usually come in pairs :). Thanking Valeriu Panoiu for all his uplifting counselling during these past 2 years and my friend Lavinia Badea for inviting me at her wonderful Astrolov podcast and for seeing the truth of who I am and mostly the light that I am becoming. One of my biggest joys is that in 2024 I can be part of a special program developed for experienced astrologers. For one year, Valeriu will guide us to get better, but most of all (I think) to be better at handling the knowledge and wisdom astrology and numerology has opened us up to.
